The Booked Solid Book Group of the Glendale Library, Arts and Culture is celebrating its twentieth anniversary in October 2022.

April is Armenian History Month, Glendale Library, Arts & Culture has lots of ways to celebrate!

After far too long, the in-person arts have returned! There are plenty of free events courtesy of Glendale’s Arts & Culture Commission to help celebrate the visual and performing arts.

Paul Ignatius, 101-year-old Glendale native, will share his memories about Glendale in the 1920s and 1930s through photos from his own collection as well as those from the Library’s History Room.

Glendale Library, Arts & Culture presents Let Me Talk, a provocative exhibition featuring paintings, sculptures, installation, and photography by a diverse group of 24 artists. This exhibit, curated by Ada Pullini Brown and Jill Sykes, will be at the Brand Library & Art Center from January 22, 2022 - March 19, 2022.

Snow in Southern California is so uncommon that people tend to casually rattle off the years that we were blanketed in snow. 1918, 1922, 1939, 1954, 1974—Snow in L.A. County is treated like a novelty instead of the seasonal obtrusion it is farther east. And while the record snowfall belongs to 1932 (two inches!), one of the more picturesque snowfalls occurred on Monday, January 10th, 1949.

Select items from the History Room are currently featured in an exciting new exhibition at the Descanso Gardens’ Sturt Haaga Gallery. Full Circle: A Return to the Land traces human interaction with the grounds upon which the Descanso Gardens sits today as well as the wider Los Angeles region.
